interesting ideas that miss the point…

The fundamental premise of this blog is that thinking misses the point.

That may sound wonderfully succinct, but it begs the question: what is ‘the point’?

…and in order to explain, we now begin with the formation of complex mental constructs, ideas, concepts, thoughts, etc… all of which miss ‘the point’.

Yes, we are dealing with a conundrum; some might say ‘The Conundrum’!

But I have a responsibility as an author to explain my point (pardon the pun!)…

Suffice it to say that when you find silence – complete mental silence – whether you sit on a cushion and contemplate your breath, or kneel on a pew in silent adoration of the Eucharist, or pass beads through your fingers, or stare in awe from the top of a mountain, or feel tears arise at the sight of a dew drop on a petal – when you find silence – you may discover an awareness that gives no impression of being bound within your own body; within anything…

That awareness is the point.

Any commentary… any thought… any social structure… any canon or dogma based thereupon… misses ‘the point’.

In this blog I describe some interesting ideas that miss the point.  They are for the most original ideas, in that they are my own.  This does mean to say that they have not been thought by others, it simply indicates my limited span of reading.
