Starting at the same point...
If (a big if!) there is a larger being in the Universe; a creator; a God… then it stands to reason that this being existed before we did; before Earth; before the Universe, before time.
We might postulate that evolved sense organs such as eyes, ears, taste buds, etc., which evolved on earth because they gave advantage in the physical world, would be unable to detect this being, as it was not part of (or limited to) the physical world.
By the same logic, we might also postulate that evolved characteristics such as intelligence, reason, logic, language, etc., which evolved on earth because they gave advantage in the physical world, would be unable to encompass, detect, describe or envisage this being, as it was not part of (or limited to) the physical world.
Hence, God will be completely invisible to any senses evolved on earth and beyond the realm of comprehension of any intelligence evolved on earth.
In other words, it is impossible for us to determine whether or not there is a God… impossible for any human being at any point in time, ever!
